Located in Vieux-Lyon, just a stone's throw from Saint-Paul station, the Académie Hôtel is housed in a 15th-century Renaissance building. This unique, fully renovated hotel, a testament to 7 centuries of hospitality, offers a skilful blend of the contemporary and the restoration of heritage.
Completely renovated after a year of work, this intimate hotel with 12 rooms and suites combines historical heritage with contemporary design.
Its inner courtyard has been restored to its former splendour, whilst several remarkable features have been restored, such as sculpted plinths bearing coats of arms attributed to Estienne Guerrier, a hotelier dating back to the 15th century. Some rooms even reveal 15th-century murals, uncovered during archaeological excavations and carefully restored.
Inspired by the great Academies (the French Academy, the Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Letters), each floor explores a theme linked to knowledge and scholarship, with numerous nods to the great thinkers.
Please note: the nearby college also offers the possibility of organising seminars and corporate events, providing an ideal solution for combining work and a stay in a unique historic setting.
