Café Arsène
2 rue Vaubecour - 69002 Lyon 2ème
Café Arsène’s interior is reminiscent of 1920s and 30s bistros, with exposed stone walls, a concrete floor, wide benches, counter-height tables and a wooden bar, as well as a few references to the French gentleman burglar, Arsène Lupin. It welcomes diners from breakfast to afternoon tea.
Here you can enjoy generous, gourmet sandwiches, filled with fresh ingredients and entirely home-made. In addition to the classic French ‘jambon-beurre’ (ham and butter), you will find more original fillings, such as salmon gravlax, beetroot, horseradish and red cabbage pickles.
The Chef, Jonathan Alvarez, also offers a couple of suggestions of the day, as well as a selection of starters (such as mackerel in a spring court-bouillon, chicken liver terrine, and a cream of pea soup) and a few sweet treats (like cherry flan or lemon cake), before coffee or for brunch.
