Musée Soieries Brochier

Located in the emblematic Hôtel-Dieu, the Musée Soieries Brochier reveals the secrets of the silk house founded in 1890 and still in business today. Through the history of four generations of the Brochier family, discover the close links forged with the world of fashion and the creations for haute couture, the collaborations with great contemporary artists, the innovation of technical textiles and their uses in the fields of health, agronomy, aeronautics...

Discover the dresses of Christian Lacroix, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, James Galanos, Chanel and Christian Dior created with Soieries Brochier fabrics. The creations of the great masters Miró, Calder and Cocteau are testimony to the strong links between artists and the Brochier family.

Discover how a taste for innovation has enabled the Jacquard loom to be adapted to create technical fabrics for the Concorde, the Radeau des cimes and the Venus sounding balloons, and how silk thread is now being woven with fibre optics to create the fabrics of tomorrow.
