Le Sirop de la Rue
1 rue Saint-Jean - 69005 Lyon 5ème
Explore our range of culinary souvenirs to take away, to recreate the atmosphere of one of Lyon’s traditional ‘bouchons’. From ‘saucisson brioché’, to pralines and ‘Rosette de Lyon’, all washed down with a jug of Beaujolais, there is something to suit all tastes!
11 years ago, Frédéric opened his first shop selling local specialities on Rue Saint-Jean. He decided not to name his shop after the neighbourhood, in the traditional manner, but rather named it after a song by the popular French singer Renaud: ‘Le Sirop de la Rue'.
Entering this typically French establishment is like entering the giant Gargantua's larder! Here, you will find all of the fine food served in Lyon’s Bouchons, such as ‘saucisson brioché’, ‘quenelles’, ‘rosette’, and ‘gâteau de foie’. There are also sweet treats, such as ‘Coussin de Lyon’, praline and various syrups, including a recent creation named ‘Cul-cul la Praline’ (we’ll leave you to work out what it means!)
If you have trouble making up your mind, go for the ‘panier gourmand’ (gourmet basket)! Or why not visit with family, friends or colleagues for a tasting or kitchen challenge? Our wine cellar is available to host various food-related events.
