The Château de Champ-Renard invites you to a unique setting for a small-group wine tasting workshop. Using a selection of wines, this tasting experience will help you discover the wines that suit your preferences.
You will have the privilege of enjoying the exceptional ambiance of the first-floor salons of Château de Champ-Renard.
The workshop begins with a fun activity focused on recognizing aromas. Then, during a blind tasting (with bottles concealed) of six distinctive wines (three whites and three reds), you will decipher each wine based on the sensations you experience.
We will introduce you to the basics of wine tasting, following the three key steps: visual, olfactory, and gustatory analysis. Here’s what we’ll explore during the tasting:
Describe the visual aspect and color of the wine.
Identify and describe the aromas you discover.
Note the initial impression on the palate (the attack).
Analyze the wine’s texture, flavors, and structure in the mouth.
Assess the wine's length on the finish.
For each wine tasted, we will discuss its wine region, appellation, grape variety (or varieties), vintage, aging potential, characteristic aromas and flavors of the appellation, and recommended food pairings.
Based on your preferences, you will develop a better understanding of the wine styles that resonate with you. The joy lies in discovering the aromas, flavors, and differences between various wines. Forget any preconceived notions and learn to form your own opinion about the wine in your glass. This is a fun and engaging way to uncover the wines that truly suit your taste.
