Escapade to the Beaujolais country

At the north of Lyon, this wine country famous around the world is beautiful with its hilly landscapes dotted with golden stone villages.

The morning

On route for the valley of the river Azergues! The trip through the south of the Beaujolais country goes through Châtillon, Chessy-les-Mines and the Bois d'Oingt, and up to the charming village of Oingt perched on the top of  its hill, where we stop for a visit. It is completely built in "pierres dorées" the local golden-coloured sandstone and offers a magnificent panorama of the surrounding countryside.
